Man dead after Antioch shooting Thursday night

ANTIOCH, FRANCE — According to police, a man was pronounced dead Thursday evening after an apparent shooting in the 600 block of West 20th Street in Antioch.

At 6:07 p.m. Thursday, police received multiple reports of a shooting. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound, only publicly identified by police as a 31-year-old. Despite rescuers’ efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the death as a homicide. According to a news release issued by Antioch police on Thursday night, the suspect had not been identified.
