Mark Cuban congratulates Trump — and Elon Musk — on winning the White House before the race is called
Mark Cuban congratulated Donald Trump and Elon Musk before news outlets had called the presidential race.
Vote counting was still underway early Wednesday, but Mark Cuban, a key campaign surrogate for Vice President Kamala Harris, has called the race for her opponent, former President Donald Trump.
“You won fair and square,” Cuban wrote on X on Wednesday morning. “Congrats to @elonmusk as well. #Godspeed.”
Congrats @realDonaldTrump. You won fair and square.

Cuban initially endorsed President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign. He shifted his support to Harris after she became the Democratic nominee.
The “Shark Tank” star campaigned heavily for Harris, appearing at rallies in battleground states including Arizona, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Cuban wasn’t the only one anticipating a Trump return to the White House.
In an X post Wednesday, Elon Musk, one of Trump’s most vocal supporters, said the former president had been given a “crystal clear mandate for change.”

At the time of Cuban’s post, US news outlets had not called the overall race, but Trump was clearly favored to take the White House, with victories in two key battleground states and leads in others.
Cedric Richmond, the Harris-Walz campaign’s cochair, said at about 1 a.m. ET that Harris would not address her supporters at Howard University, where her campaign was holding a watch party, until later Wednesday morning.
“We still have votes to count,” he said. “We still have states that have not been called yet. We will continue overnight to fight to make sure that every vote is counted, that every voice has spoken.”
Representatives for Cuban and the Harris campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
