Five people injured in Oakland shootings Saturday night
None of the shootings appear to be related at this time
OAKLAND, Calif. — Five people were injured, including a 16-year-old girl, in four Oakland shootings that occurred within three and a half hours Saturday night, according to authorities.
According to authorities, the shootings do not appear to be connected at this time.
A shooting occurred outside the 5900 block of San Pablo Avenue in North Oakland at 7:53 p.m. Saturday, injuring two men.
A 36-year-old Oakland man had just left a liquor store when he was shot multiple times by another man who fled in a vehicle before police arrived.
Authorities said a 34-year-old El Sobrante man was hit in the leg by stray bullets while waiting to pick up food from a nearby restaurant.
Both men were in good health. The shooting’s motivation is being investigated. There have been no arrests announced.
Authorities said the 16-year-old girl was shot in the foot in an apparent drive-by shooting near 23rd Street and Telegraph Avenue around 10:40 p.m.
Authorities said the girl had been attending a party in the area and was outside near a group of people when someone in a passing vehicle began shooting at them. The girl was the only one who was hit. She was in a hospital in stable condition.
Police are investigating the shooting’s motive and whether the girl was the intended target. There have been no arrests.
Another drive-by shooting occurred around 7:40 p.m. when a 50-year-old woman was walking in the 3900 block of Webster Street. She was in a hospital in stable condition.
Police believe the shooting was the result of a dispute the woman had with another person a few minutes earlier at a nearby gas station. Police believe the shooter was connected to the person with whom the victim had a dispute. There have been no arrests.
A 57-year-old man was found shot in the leg near 13th Street and Mandela Parkway in West Oakland around 7:30 p.m. The man was taken to the hospital, but police have yet to interview him in order to determine who shot him and why.
Police and Crime Stoppers in Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrests of the suspects in the double shooting and up to $5,000 in reward money in the other shootings.
