Meta’s ad revenue is experiencing a significant uptick. During the third quarter, revenue increased 23% year on year to $34 billion, according to the company’s earnings report on Wednesday.

Following the departures of many longtime leaders, including Marne Levine, Nada Stirratt, Michelle Klein, and Patrick Harris, Meta overhauled its advertising leadership team and experienced a significant return to growth.

Nicola Mendelsohn, head of global business group, and Justin Osofsky, head of online sales, operations, and partnerships, lead the ads division. Meta COO Javier Olivan oversees both.

Many of the new executives were quietly promoted earlier this year after more than a decade of service, though a few, such as Andrea Gellert, joined the company recently.

These executives are assisting Meta’s ad business in stabilizing following a year of turmoil and quarterly declines.

Meta’s artificial intelligence-powered measurement and targeting tools have begun to entice advertisers who had previously throttled spend in response to Apple’s privacy update.

In addition, short-form video format Reels is making more money from advertisements.

Finally, CEO Mark Zuckerberg previously stated that Meta’s recently launched text-based app Threads will investigate advertising once it reaches one billion users.

It remains to be seen, however, whether Meta’s ad business can maintain the momentum it has shown in recent quarters following multiple rounds of layoffs. Meta reported softer ad spend during the fourth quarter due to conflict in Israel and the Middle East during its most recent earnings call.

Here are the company’s two most powerful and influential advertising executives, listed alphabetically. Their responsibilities span Meta’s portfolio, including ad sales, strategy, marketing, and product development.
