Bay Area News Group boys athlete of the week: Tyson Lovett, Clayton Valley Charter football

Lovett scored on the ground and threw two touchdowns and a two-point conversion as the Ugly Eagles defeated California 33-24.

Tyson Lovett of Clayton Valley Charter is the Bay Area News Group’s boys athlete of the week for Oct. 23-28, after receiving 36.01% of the vote by the deadline Wednesday.

Jasier Smith, a Vallejo football player, finished second.

Lovett ran for a touchdown and threw for two touchdowns and a two-point conversion as Clayton Valley defeated California 33-24 in EBAL Mountain Division play.
