Spotify has exploded as a leading podcasting platform for creators, with 35,000 podcasters charting on the platform for the first time this year.
According to Spotify, the week of January 29 brought in more new podcast creators than any other week this year.
The company is revealing the top 15 rising podcast creators on the platform for the first time. “The Basement Yard” from internet creator Joe Santagato and the business news show “Morning Brew Daily” from newsletter publisher Morning Brew are among the titles on the list shared exclusively with Business Insider.
“Spotify has been by far our fastest-growing platform this year,” said Toby Howell, co-host of “Morning Brew Daily.” “We hosted an in-person meet-up for our listeners a few months ago and I was pleasantly surprised by how many of them found us organically via Spotify’s discovery features.”
“The Joe Rogan Experience,” which topped the Spotify charts for the fourth consecutive year; “Call Her Daddy,” “Huberman Lab,” “Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain,” and “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” were the most popular podcasts overall in 2023.
Spotify is releasing a “Wrapped for Podcasters” experience this year for both fans and creators as part of its 2023 Wrapped music campaign to continue its push into the podcasting space.
Podcast creators can access the “Podcaster Wrapped” experience via the Spotify for Podcasters dashboard, which will display new data such as a creator’s most-talked-about episode as well as their fans’ favorite podcast and music genres.
It’s one of several new features added to the podcaster dashboard recently, including video tools.
“We love Spotify’s new video features as they have quickly become one of our top audio platforms and programmatic ad revenue streams,” said Andrew Santino, cohost of the podcast “Bad Friends.”
