President Joe Biden has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him as the Democratic nominee.

After weeks of mounting pressure, President Joe Biden announced Sunday he would drop out of the presidential race.

The Democrats now only have a few weeks to rally behind a new nominee, who will go on to face former President Donald Trump in November.

Biden’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris places her as a frontrunner, though it’s uncertain if any other potential candidates will choose to challenge her.

Several Democratic lawmakers have already pledged their support for the vice president.

Though not an outright endorsement, Gov. Jared Polis shared the coconut and palm tree emojis, a meme that Democrats have used in recent weeks to show their support for Harris.
