After Jensen Huang’s Nvidia wipeout, no one has gained more wealth than Mark Zuckerberg in 2024 — becoming $54 billion richer

Mark Zuckerberg has grown his fortune more than anyone else this year — not even Nvidia boss Jensen Huang after his wealth tumbled this week.
The Meta cofounder and CEO has become $54 billion richer this year, boosting his net worth by over 40% to $182 billion, per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. He currently ranks fourth on the rich list, only $7 billion behind LVMH founder and CEO Bernard Arnault in third place.
Huang led Zuckerberg in year-to-date wealth gain at the start of this week. But the Nvidia cofounder and CEO has taken an $11.5 billion hit on that front over the last two trading days due to a sharp decline in the chipmaker’s stock price. Huang’s fortune has grown by $44 billion to around $93 billion this year.
Meta is a social media powerhouse that owns Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Threads. With Zuckerberg at the helm, it has made huge bets on virtual reality, the metaverse, and artificial intelligence in recent years.
The pricey forays initially spooked investors, fueling an over 75% decline in Meta stock between September 2021 and November 2022.
But the wider AI boom — and signs that Meta is reining in its spending — have reignited interest in the company as a potential leader in next-generation technology, communication, and entertainment.
Meta’s shares have soared more than fivefold from their 2022 low to trade at record highs above $500, valuing the company at $1.3 trillion.
The blistering comeback has supercharged the value of Zuckerberg’s roughly 13% stake in Meta.
His personal fortune has jumped from under $35 billion in November 2022 to over $182 billion today.
Now that Huang’s luck has turned, Zuckerberg can claim the title of the biggest wealth gainer on the planet this year.
