Bay Area News Group boys athlete of the week: Isitolo Tuugamusu, Archbishop Riordan football

Tuugamusu tied a West Catholic Athletic League record with five touchdowns in the Crusaders’ 41-34 victory over St. Ignatius

Isitolo Tuugamusu of Archbishop Riordan is the Bay Area News Group’s boys high school athlete of the week for September 18-23, receiving 37.05% of the vote.

Kyan Phillips (36.79%) of Lincoln-San Jose finished second.

Tuugamusu tied a West Catholic Athletic League record with five touchdowns in the Crusaders’ 41-34 league opener against St. Ignatius. Riordan improved to 3-1 after the freshman scored all of his points on the ground, finishing with 91 yards in 23 carries.
