Caltrain hits, kills pedestrian near Skyway Drive in San Jose
The collision occurred around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday
SAN JOSE, Calif. — According to the commuter rail line, one person was killed Tuesday morning when they were hit by a Caltrain near Skyway Drive in San Jose.
A northbound train hit the pedestrian at 6:29 a.m., according to a Caltrain spokesperson. The train was still stopped at the crash site — along Monterey Road north of Branham Lane — until about 8:45 a.m., as emergency personnel investigated.
Service was then resumed as planned.
The train carried 97 passengers, but no other injuries were reported.
The victim has yet to be identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
