Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are starting a ‘Dogecast’ podcast to chronicle their government efficiency drive
Vivek Ramaswamy and Elon Musk have been put in charge of the “Department of Government Efficiency.”
Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are planning on keeping federal workers and the American public up to date on their progress at the Department of Government Efficiency with a new podcast.
The Tesla CEO will host a regular “Dogecast” podcast with fellow entrepreneur Ramaswamy that will provide regular updates on their mission to slash government spending by as much as $2 trillion, Ramaswamy said on Wednesday.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Ramaswamy said the show would “explain exactly what we’re doing to the public” and “provide transparency in what is a once-in-a-generation project.”
Elon Musk added on X that the podcast would host guests and previously suggested the live streams would be weekly.
Ramaswamy also said in his video that he’d put his current podcast “Truth” on pause while working with DOGE.
Musk and Ramaswamy, key supporters of Donald Trump’s successful election campaign, were picked by the president-elect to run the “Department of Government Efficiency,” a cost-cutting advisory body named after the DOGE cryptocurrency.
Political scientists have questioned whether Musk and Ramaswamy’s ideas, which include “deleting” whole government departments and mass layoffs of federal workers, are achievable.
Since the announcement of DOGE, Musk and Ramaswamy have both used X to recruit fellow small government enthusiasts, with Musk floating an online leaderboard of “the most insanely dumb spending of your tax dollars.”
Musk and Ramaswamy wrote in a Wall Street Journal op-ed that DOGE would recommend RTO and early retirement policies to trim federal head count while also “taking aim at” funding for public media and Planned Parenthood.
Musk and DOGE did not respond to a request for comment sent outside normal working hours.
