Free and cheap tacos on National Taco Day 2023, Wednesday, Oct. 4

This year, National Taco Day falls on Wednesday, October 4, but it still brings Taco Tuesday-style deals with it. Taco Bell’s push for “Tuesday Drops,” offers for its rewards members, is one of them this year.

Several other promotions are also aimed at loyalty members and app users. Here’s a taste of what’s available.

Del Taco: According to a news release, this Lake Forest-based chain has declared Oct. 1-28 Tacoberfest, with four weeks of deals for Del Yeah! Rewards members. Beginning Oct. 4, a bundle of five Snack Tacos will be available for $3 on Wednesdays. deltaco.com/tacoberfest

El Pollo Loco: Loco Rewards members who purchase any two tacos on Oct. 4 will receive an additional taco for free, according to a news release. Also, through Oct. 4, anyone who purchases a $30 eGift Card on the chain’s website will receive a free Chicken Tacos al Carbon Fire Grilled Combo. elpolloloco.com

According to a news release, all El Torito locations will offer a free Street Taco Trio plate with the purchase of an entree of equal or lesser value on Oct. 4. Three chicken or carnitas tacos are served with beans and rice.The offer is only valid for dine-in and is limited to one per table. During happy hour, 3-7 p.m., draft beer and house wines will be $4, and signature margaritas will be $6. El Torito will honor Hispanic Heritage Month through October 15 with artwork and T-shirts designed by Ms. Yellow, Darren Villegas, and Alex Ali Gonzalez.

Taco Bell: According to a news release, the Irvine-based fast food giant is reintroducing its Taco Lover’s Pass from today, Oct. 3, to Wednesday, Oct. 4. Enrollees can get one taco a day from a menu of eight for $10 for 30 days. Taco Bell is giving away 100 free passes today on its Tuesday Drops page in its app. On October 12, the chain will launch a $1.49 breakfast taco with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and your choice of sausage, bacon, or breakfast potatoes. tacobell.com/promotions/drops
