Hayward: Woman killed, three injured in crash Monday night

Two-vehicle collision happened at Hesperian and Industrial boulevards

HAYWARD According to police, a 39-year-old Hayward woman was killed in a traffic collision Monday night in the city. The collision, which involved a pickup truck and a car, occurred around 8:55 p.m. at Hesperian and Industrial boulevards, according to the Hayward Police Department. The deceased woman was a passenger in the car. According to police, she was taken to a hospital and died as a result of her injuries. Her identity will be released by the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau once it has been confirmed and her next of kin has been notified. The death was the ninth traffic fatality on city streets this year. The driver, a 36-year-old man, was treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries, while two other passengers, a 9-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl, were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police. The man and the two girls live in Hayward. The pickup truck’s driver, a 46-year-old Modesto man, was unharmed in the collision. According to police, he remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
