It’s Pumpkin Spice Latte season already. Guess who’s first this year?
It’s August, and temperatures are reaching the mid-90s in many parts of the country.
Weather forecasters in Irving, Texas, the headquarters of 7-Eleven, predict another 105-degree day today, rising to 107 by Thursday.
Nonetheless, the convenience store behemoth is introducing its own take on an autumn favorite: the Pumpkin Spice Latte.
“We know our customers wait all year for their favorite fall flavors… so we decided to break out the pumpkin a little bit earlier this year,” said Dennis Phelps, a senior vice president at 7-Eleven, in announcing the calendar-busting move. “It may not yet feel like fall outside, but it sure can taste like fall as we enjoy the season’s first Pumpkin Spice Latte.”
Customers can purchase the seasonal latte or make their regular hot or iced coffee drinks pumpkin-y by adding pumpkin syrup or pumpkin-spiced creamer from now until Oct. 31. Along with coffee, 7-Eleven will offer seasonal breakfast pastries such as Apple Cider Donuts and Apple Danish. The Pumpkin Muffin will be added to the assortment later this month.
According to Phelps’ announcement, both the drinks and the baked goods will be available through the 7Now delivery service app.
