Los Altos: The Good Salad, Bibo’s NY Pizza joining State Street Market
As part of the State Street Market 2.0 lineup, two South Bay restaurants — one a veteran, one a relative newcomer — are expanding to the Peninsula.
The Good Salad, a popular takeout and catering salad concept that has landed on Yelp’s list of the Bay Area’s top 100 places to eat, is now open at the Los Altos food hall. Sanad Al Souz, an engineer who collaborated with a chef to help create the menu of meal-size salads that feature regional produce, in-house dressings, and 42 customizable ingredients, founded the venture in Santa Clara in 2021.
The Blazing Bird, made with Halal Cajun chicken breast, romaine lettuce, black bean and corn pico de gallo, avocado, and crispy fried onions, is the best-selling item, with house-made Chipotle Ranch Dressing and a signature balsamic glaze on the side. Toppings can be added or subtracted as desired. The Good Salad’s pricing policy, which allows customers to remove a topping and receive a price reduction, is part of the appeal.
Al Souz said he is working on special menu items for State Street Market customers.
Bibo’s, a favorite in San Jose’s Willow Glen owned and operated by brothers Freddie and Bibo Elian, will be opening soon. Their New York family roots inspired them to perfect a dough recipe and recreate the style of pizza they adore.
They fired up the pizza oven at a second location this year, inside the Littlest Little Italy, a multi-concept food hall in San Jose’s Little Italy district, after more than a decade at Bird and Minnesota avenues.
According to Freddie Elian, a new concept called Bibo’s NY Pizza & Pasta will debut in Los Altos. Look for classic and creative pasta sauces, as well as a clever mix-and-match pasta and sauce option that allows you to enjoy ravioli with pesto or fettuccine with mushroom-truffle sauce — or vice versa.
Pizza slices and whole pies will be available. The Spicy Italian, topped with housemade meatballs, Italian sausage, and pepperoni, is Los Altos’ signature slice. Italian wings with Calabrese pepper sauce or garlic-olive oil will round out the menu, as will cannoli for dessert.
