Man threatens to burn down Campbell fire station

Officers apprehend another suspect who has a ‘lost’ SJPD badge.

Oct. 23

At 6:01 p.m. on East Hamilton Avenue in the 400 block: A 27-year-old man was seen spray-painting a curb. He admitted to the graffiti and had graffiti tools on him.

7:17 p.m. on Alpha Court: The victim claimed that during an argument with her roommate, her roommate’s friend came over and choked her.

At 8:36 p.m., at Hamilton and Darryl avenues, a man, 38, was stopped for a vehicle code violation and found to be under the influence of alcohol.

A man, 24, was approached inside a vehicle with two juveniles smoking marijuana at Almarida Drive and Mitchell Court at 1:23 a.m. The man was found to have supplied the marijuana to the juveniles. During the incident, a 14-year-old was in a separate vehicle and was discovered to be in possession of marijuana for sale.

Oct. 24

At 11:20 a.m. in the 1300 block of Camden Avenue, the suspect forced open the window of the victim’s car and jumped inside. He pushed the victim and attempted to steal her wallet. The suspect then threatened to send a video of them to the victim’s friends and family.

A man, 24, stole several tools in the 400 block of East Hamilton Avenue at 11 a.m. He was high on fentanyl, under the influence, and had a warrant out for his arrest.

A woman, 33, was arrested at 3:26 p.m. in the 900 block of West Hamilton Avenue with heroin and a pipe in her possession.

A man, 48, was stopped at Leigh Avenue and Southwest Expressway at 10:08 p.m. for a vehicle code violation. A methamphetamine pipe was discovered during a search.

At 11:33 p.m. on Dell Avenue and Hacienda, a man, 48, was pulled over for a vehicle code violation while riding his bike. A methamphetamine pipe was discovered during a search.

4:23 a.m. on Adler Avenue in the 100 block: A 43-year-old man was wanted on a weapons warrant out of San Jose. He resisted officers during his arrest. A lost San Jose police badge was discovered during an inventory search of his vehicle.

Oct. 25

A man, 29, was stopped for a traffic violation at Hamilton Avenue and Winchester Boulevard at 12:13 a.m. He was charged with DUI and arrested.

Someone sprayed blue paint on the soundwall at Valley Forge Way and Phelps Avenue at 1:35 a.m.

Oct. 26

10:42 a.m. in the 900 block of West Hamilton Avenue: A 37-year-old man was approached inside his vehicle. The passenger was on probation that could be searched. Methamphetamine and glass pipes were discovered during a search.

8:49 a.m. on Mona and Lisa avenues: Officers discovered an abandoned stolen 1996 Chevrolet C3500.

Officers discovered an unoccupied stolen 1994 Honda CRV at 5:14 p.m. on North Central and East Hamilton avenues.

At 1:41 a.m., at the intersection of South Bascom and Foxworthy avenues: A 27-year-old man was stopped after walking away from a vehicle with two different license plates. Inside the vehicle, a methamphetamine pipe was clearly visible. The man was found to be under the influence of alcohol and narcotics.

At 2:30 a.m., at South Winchester Boulevard and Camden Avenue, a 21-year-old woman was pulled over for a vehicle code violation and found to be DUI.

5:13 a.m. in the 2500 block of South Winchester Boulevard: A window was broken and garbage cans were overturned outside. There was no entry.

Oct. 27

The license plate from a Toyota Prius was stolen overnight in the 200 block of West Rincon Avenue.

A man, 24, struck the victim, who desired prosecution, at 7:07 a.m. in the 900 block of Sobrato Drive. A stimulant was discovered to be in the man’s system.

A silver 2019 Ford Mustang was stolen overnight in the 200 block of Union Avenue.

At 10:57 a.m. in the 1600 block of South Winchester Boulevard, two suspects robbed the victim with a black handgun.

A man was reported passed out in a 2014 Lexus at the intersection of San Tomas Expressway and West Hamilton Avenue at 8:45 p.m. When officers approached him, he awoke and took his foot off the brake, colliding with a patrol vehicle. He then accelerated away from the scene, nearly colliding with other vehicles, to free his vehicle from the push bumper.

At 9:52 p.m., at East Campbell and Central avenues, several motorcycles and ATVs were reported to be driving recklessly downtown. Officers saw the vehicles perform stunts in both lanes of traffic and on occupied sidewalks. A number of vehicles failed to yield. They took off northbound on South Bascom Avenue. A number of license plate numbers were obtained.

8:18 p.m., East Hamilton Avenue 500 block: A 53-year-old man was pulled over for a traffic violation and found to be DUI on narcotics. He had 4 ounces of methamphetamine on him.

A driver, 37, was stopped at East Hamilton Avenue and Creekside Way at 12:07 a.m. for a vehicle code violation and was found to be DUI.

A man threw something at a vehicle on South Winchester Boulevard and San Tomas Expressway, causing damage. The victim wished to be prosecuted.

Oct. 28

A woman discovered items missing after retrieving her recovered stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Union Avenue. One of her stolen credit cards was used to make several purchases.

A man threw a rock at a vehicle, cracking the front windshield, at 8:35 p.m. on the San Tomas Expressway and Highway 17.

At 11:59 p.m. in the 200 block of East Campbell Avenue, a man, 21, was riding his motorcycle recklessly. He was arrested after being found to be DUI.

A woman discovered her sister hitting her 8-month-old daughter on the back at 1:08 a.m. in the 1400 block of Ontario Lane. The baby’s back bore visible scars.

Oct. 29

12:22 p.m. on Union Avenue in the 100 block: A 28-year-old man threatened to burn down the firehouse.

A white tow truck sideswiped a vehicle on the Southbound San Tomas Expressway and East Sunnyoaks Avenue at 12:27 p.m., causing it to go off the road and into a fence.

9:26 p.m. on South Bascom Avenue in the 1500 block: A 49-year-old man was approached near an unlicensed vehicle. He was discovered to have an outstanding warrant as well as drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.

(V) and (S) Israel Chapa, 42, were arrested at 2 p.m. in the 100 block of West Rincon Avenue.

During an argument, a 42-year-old man shoved the victim, causing her to collide with a table and receive a bruise. He slapped her as well.
