Offensive linemen
(listed in alphabetical order)
6-5, 270-pound senior Bennett Anderson of Bellarmine
Yale has made a commitment. Had 11 offers, including those from every Ivy League school except Dartmouth. Several Power 5 schools expressed interest, including Cal, Stanford, UCLA, and Oregon State. At Yale, he’ll most likely play OT. Long-snapper extraordinaire. 3 star recruit according to 247sports.
Archbishop Mitty’s Alex Bleszynski, 6-3, 285, junior
On the Monarchs’ roster, he is listed as OG. Only six starters return from last season’s 9-4 team. Introduced in the middle of the season. I began in the center. This season, he’ll be mostly on the offensive line, but he’ll also see time on the defensive line.
Julian Cambra, San Ramon Valley, junior, 6-2, 225
During his sophomore year, he was named first-team all-EBAL in two sports: football as a left tackle and baseball as a designated hitter. In addition to his LT duties, he will see some DL action. Baseball, as good as he is on the field, may be his best sport.
Arroyo’s Kamani Fifita, 6-5, 310, senior
Tennyson coach John Pangelina stated on Twitter that Fifita is the most underrated offensive lineman in the Bay Area. According to 247sports, he has not been offered but is attracting interest from Cal, Stanford, San Jose State, and others. Last season, he was a first-team OL in the West Alameda County Conference’s Shoreline Division.
Serra’s John Holthaus, 6-7, 290, senior
Colorado State has made a commitment. Portland State University also provides this program. 247sports ranks him as a 3-star recruit. Rivals awarded two stars. Has gained 10 pounds since the end of the previous season. Serra coach Patrick Walsh referred to Holthaus as his top offensive lineman.
Wilcox’s Justin Hylkema, 6-8, 315, senior
Arizona is my home. One of the best offensive tackles in the Bay Area. Cal, Washington State, UNLV, Utah State, and Nevada all offer it. 247sports, Rivals, ESPN, and On3 all gave him a three-star rating. According to one scouting report, he is big and physical, and he moves well for his size.
Riordan’s Peter Langi, 6-5, 330, junior
A major recruit. Transferred from Mater Dei-Santa Ana to Riordan to join younger brother Michael. USC, Michigan, LSU, Texas A&M, Utah, and Washington are among the 15 Power-5 offers he has received. The On3 recruiting site predicts a USC/Cal recruiting battle, but it’s too early to tell. Can play both tackle and guard.
Berlin Lillard, Bishop O’Dowd, senior, 6-5, 325
Serra’s John Holthaus will join him at Colorado State. 247sports ranks him as a 3-star recruit at OT. On defense, he plays nose guard. Cal, Columbia, and Brown were all interested. Excellent student. Computer engineering is listed as a major interest.
Valley Christian senior Rayne Mayo (6-3, 300)
One of two Warriors, along with Champ Taulealea, who rank among the top offensive linemen in the Bay Area News Group. According to 247sports, he is a three-star recruit. Air Force, Army, Navy, Columbia, Cornell, UC-Davis, and Sacramento State are among the 14 offers he has received. Last season, he was named to the WCAL first team. Will take on the role of OG.
John Mills, St. Ignatius, junior, 6-6, 310
Cal, UCLA, and Washington have all made offers to this rising star. 247sports and On3 recruiting sites gave me three stars. Can move around. Some compare him to Sacred Heart Cathedral’s former 49ers Pro Bowl right guard Kevin Gogan.
Clayton Valley senior Manuel Serna, 6-6, 290
247sports rated him three stars. Quick feet and solid pass blocking are strengths. Has seven offers, including those from San Jose State, Utah State, and Nevada. UC Davis and Sacramento State have also expressed interest.
Champ Taulealea, Valley Christian, junior, 6-4, 330
One of the top ten players in the Bay Area, regardless of position or class. 247sports, Rivals, and ESPN all rate him as a 4-star OT. According to 247sports, he is California’s No. 16 overall player in the 2025 class. Has ten Power-5 offers, including those from Cal, USC, Oregon, Washington, and Texas. Invited to the Polynesian Bowl in 2025.
6-5, 270-pound senior Xavier Thorpe of Livermore
Washington State, San Jose State, Nevada, and Penn have all made offers. This season, he’ll be at right tackle. Will also spend some time on D-Line. Livermore coach John Wade describes his team as “super athletic and strong.” In 2022, he was named second-team all-EBAL Valley.
Riordan’s Tommy Tofi, 6-7, 330, sophomore
Comes from Sheldon-Elk Grove to Riordan. Cal, Stanford, USC, Oregon, Washington, and Utah are among the 11 Power-5 offers he has received. He and three of his linemates have already received multiple Power 5 offers, making him part of the most heavily recruited offensive line in Northern California.
Ikinasio Tupou, 6-6, 290, senior, Palo Alto
It is thought to have a strong Washington bias. The Huskies are interested in him as an offensive tackle. Also serves as a defensive end. One of the top five offensive line prospects in the Bay Area. Last season, he was a first-team all-PAL DeAnza at OL. Has nine Power-5 offers, including one from California.
6-3, 285 junior Sione Vailea, McClymonds
First-team all-OAL offensive lineman. Provides Mack with a strong presence up front, which will be needed with a non-league schedule that includes Bellarmine, San Ramon Valley, and De La Salle. Vailea has no offers but is on the radar of several schools, including Oregon State.
Ryan Vernale, Los Gatos, senior, 6-3, 255
Last season, he was named PAL De Anza Offensive Lineman of the Year. With 44 tackles, he was a key contributor on defense. So far, no offers have been made, which is somewhat surprising given the success of the Los Gatos program. Height is an issue, according to coach Mark Krail. Schools would be knocking on his door in an inch or two.
Siosiua Vete, Tennyson, junior, 6-6, 280
Rates are close behind. Valley Christian’s Champ Taulealea is one of the Bay Area’s top offensive line prospects. Stanford, the heavy favorite to sign him, is one of seven Power-5 offers he has received. 247sports Composite gave it a 4-star rating. Last season, he played for Fremont-Oakland.
