San Jose: Man fatally shot near Capitol Expressway and Monterey Road
No suspects or motive have been identified in the daylight attack Tuesday
SAN JOSE, Calif. – According to police, a man was killed in a shooting that occurred in broad daylight in South San Jose.
According to a San Jose police news release, the shooting occurred at 12:48 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Capitol Expressway and Monterey Road.
Officers arrived to find a man with at least one gunshot wound. He died on the spot. Once he has been formally identified and his next of kin have been notified, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release his name.
According to police, no suspects have been identified, and the motive and circumstances of the shooting are being investigated.
The shooting was the 27th homicide investigated by San Jose police this year, matching the total recorded at the same point in 2022.
