Saratoga student accused of making criminal threats at school
Two incidents of identity theft also reported in city

Deputies responded to a suspicious circumstances call at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School on Saratoga Avenue at 9:54 a.m. A student made criminal threats, according to an investigation. The student was issued a citation and released.
Deputies observed a motorist driving a vehicle without a front license plate at Saratoga Avenue and Quito Road at 5:01 p.m. and contacted the driver at Peet’s Coffee in the El Paseo de Saratoga shopping center. An investigation revealed that the suspect was in possession of cocaine and was driving on a suspended license, both of which were violations of the suspect’s post-release community supervision terms. The suspect was arrested and later released.

Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported receiving a text message from an unknown phone number asking them to verify personal information. The victim dialed the number and gave his or her personal information. There was no monetary loss reported.
Oct. 21
Identity theft: A Saratoga resident reported that someone stole their personal information and used it to open a cellular phone service account, resulting in a $5,032 loss.
Oct. 22
Deputies stopped a motorist at Saratoga Avenue and Prospect Road at 1:57 a.m. for expired registration. According to the investigation, the suspect attached a false registration tab to the rear license plate. The suspect was arrested and later released.
