Top 10 most beautiful cities in the world include one that’s right here
Earlier this year, TheLuxuryTravelExpert.com embarked on a potentially divisive mission: ranking the world’s most beautiful cities. Why? They could, after all. Because it’s entertaining. Because we all enjoy making lists?
This one is especially special to us because it includes several cities close to our hearts — and one in particular.
The list’s author, a well-traveled doctor and devoted blogger who prefers to remain anonymous, admitted that selecting cosmopolitan beauties “may sound like a mission impossible.” Some people are drawn to historic wonders, while others are drawn to breathtaking views, he said, “but although we all have our personal favorites, there are some cities that are so exceptionally beautiful – whether it’s because of their historical character or natural setting – that they should be on everyone’s bucket list.”
Four of the ten are European, but Cape Town takes the top spot thanks to its beautiful beaches and mountains, wine country, and buzzy dining scene. Rio de Janeiro is mentioned, along with a reference to a Brazilian saying we’d never heard before: “God created the world in six days.” He devoted the seventh to Rio.”
