Elon Musk’s DOGE office desk is leaning into his gamer aesthetic.
The Tesla CEO shared a photo of his office at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on Friday, revealing a massive curved computer screen that many gamers would instantly recognize.

The screen is a $1,799 Samsung G9 model, which sports a wraparound OLED curved display. You can usually find it on sale — a quick search shows some retailers selling it for around $1,100.
We’ll spare you all the nitty gritty specs, but suffice it to say it’s about as gamery as computer screens get, with the supersized screen designed to fill more of your field of view so you feel more immersed in virtual worlds.

And while the attached gaming PC visible below his desk all but guarantees Musk uses the setup to play some of his favorite video games, such as “Diablo IV,” an “ultra-wide” screen like Musk’s is also genuinely useful for productivity too.
When working, all that extra screen real estate allows you to set up multiple side-by-side windows, so Musk could theoretically have a full-size web browser open next to his X news feed next to a workplace communication app like Slack.
However, the most eye-catching thing in Musk’s DOGE office pic may be a framed image of the internet meme character “Kekius Maximus,” which Musk changed his X profile name to for a time in December.

The meme is a variation of the internet character Pepe the Frog, popular in some online communities as well as some in the far-right. The Pepe the Frog meme is now considered by the Anti-Defamation League to be a hate symbol, though the organization has said that “the mere fact of posting a Pepe meme does not mean that someone is racist or white supremacist.”
“The majority of uses of Pepe the Frog have been, and continue to be, non-bigoted,” the Anti-Defamation League wrote. “However, it was inevitable that, as the meme proliferated in online venues such as 4chan, 8chan, and Reddit, which have many users who delight in creating racist memes and imagery, a subset of Pepe memes would come into existence that centered on racist, antisemitic or other bigoted themes.”

“In recent years, with the growth of the ‘alt right’ segment of the white supremacist movement, a segment that draws some of its support from some of the above-mentioned internet sites, the number of ‘alt right’ Pepe memes has grown, a tendency exacerbated by the controversial and contentious 2016 presidential election,” the ADL added.
Musk, who frequently posts internet memes to his X account, has previously posted memes containing Pepe the Frog.
Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the image from B-17.
Other decorations in Musk’s office include a “DOGE” desk plaque and a “Make America Great Again” hat.
