Wish You Were Here: A splashy trip to Bath

This past year, our readers traveled to places near and far, biking Oregon’s trails, cruising in Ireland, exploring the Galapagos Islands, and more. Along the way, they’ve shared their experiences as well as plenty of travel advice.

The latest installment comes from the United Kingdom.

WISH YOU WERE HERE

ENGLAND: Sean and Elizabeth Seman of Santa Cruz spent a month in the UK, beginning with “a whirlwind week in London,” according to Elizabeth, before hopping a train from Paddington Station to Bath. “Bath is a legendary UNESCO World Heritage site, a picturesque city where Georgian architecture reigns supreme, Bath Abbey reigns supreme, and Jane Austen has left her indelible mark.”

“In this completely walkable city, we took our time to enjoy the Bath city walks, the Circus, and the Botanic Gardens.” We took a cruise down the Avon and went on a tour of Bath Abbey, where the stained glass gleams in the sunlight. On our last day, we made a beeline for the Roman Baths (pictured), where scenes from Roman and Bath citizens’ lives are projected onto the walls of Aqua Solis, bringing it all to life.”
