San Jose: Vehicle crash leaves one dead
The collision happened at around 5:14 a.m. at the intersection of Story Road and Moraes Court
According to police, one driver was killed in a car accident in East San Jose on Sunday morning.
Around 5:14 a.m., at the intersection of Story Road and Moraes Court, a man driving an eastbound 2013 Cadillac sedan struck the center island and collided with a parked pick-up truck on the curb.
The man, the vehicle’s sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity had not yet been released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner as of Monday morning, pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities were looking into whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
It was the city’s 30th fatal crash in 2023. This year, 31 people have died in traffic accidents.
