Oakland police identify man who was recently shot and killed in front of his wife
OAKLAND — A 46-year-old man was shot and killed outside a gas station in front of his wife, according to police.
Andre Stevenson, of Oakland, was shot and killed by an unknown assailant on the 9800 block of Edes Avenue, near a 76 Gas station in East Oakland, around 8:15 p.m. on July 27.
Police have not made any arrests or publicly disclosed a possible motive. However, they claim that Stevenson appeared to be targeted.
Authorities said Stevenson had just purchased something at a convenience store and was walking back to his Chrysler 300 when at least one person in another car pulled alongside him and opened fire. When police arrived on the scene, they impounded the Chrysler. The fatal shooting was one of two homicides reported on July 27.
