Road rage encounter on I-580 near Pleasanton ends with killing near Tracy
Authorities said a road rage incident on a freeway near Pleasanton ended in bloodshed when a man was found shot about 25 miles away in Tracy.
According to the Tracy Police Department, the deadly collision began on Interstate 580 near Pleasanton on the afternoon of Aug. 4 and continued east onto Interstate 205. Officers then responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the 700 block of West Clover Road in Tracy, where a 61-year-old Manteca man was discovered with life-threatening injuries, according to the police department.
Ryan Wood later died in the hospital.
According to the Tracy Police Department, two Lodi men were arrested in connection with the shooting. Investigators believe the men have previously brandished weapons at other motorists and have been linked to a number of road rage incidents in recent months.
