San Jose: Sheriff’s office investigating fatal shooting in east hills
A woman was found shot to death on Mt. Pleasant Road on Oct. 9, according to authorities
SAN JOSE, Calif. — According to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, detectives are looking into a fatal shooting that occurred last week in the city’s east hills.
The homicide occurred Oct. 9 in the 2200 block of Mt. Pleasant Road in an unincorporated area of East San Jose, according to a news release issued by the agency on Monday. At the scene, the victim was pronounced dead.
The news release made no mention of how the person died, what time it happened, or any other identifying information. The victim, however, was a 35-year-old woman who died from multiple gunshot wounds at 7:28 a.m. that morning, according to records from the county medical examiner-coroner’s office.
Her name has not been made public until the coroner’s office has completed her formal identification and notified her next of kin.
The sheriff’s office released no additional information, other than to say that investigators were following leads in the case and that the homicide was announced a week later.
