Human remains found in Alameda are those of woman; death being investigated as homicide
ALAMEDA, FLORIDA — Police said Wednesday that human remains discovered along the shoreline near the Bay Farm Island Bridge last month were those of a woman, and her death is being investigated as a homicide.
Authorities believe the woman is between the ages of 20 and 40, but she has yet to be identified.
According to preliminary autopsy findings, the death is being investigated as a homicide, but the cause of death is unknown. Police are trying to figure out when and where the woman died, as well as how long she was in the water.
The remains were discovered along the shoreline near the bridge around 3:30 p.m. on July 20.
Police are investigating the first homicide of the year.
