Oakland: Family identifies mother of five who was stabbed to death in unsolved homicide

No arrests made; fundraising page says slain woman’s ‘greatest blessing was her children, and grandchildren’

OAKLAND, Calif. — The 54-year-old woman whose badly decomposed body was discovered in a residential neighborhood last month has been identified.

Senne Monique Casey, of Oakland, was stabbed to death last month by an unidentified person, according to police. On August 14, her naked body was discovered wrapped in a blanket in the 2700 block of 79th Avenue in Oakland.

Casey’s eldest daughter describes her as a dedicated mother and grandmother who had five children and was recently able to “get herself together” after a long battle with addiction.

“Her children and grandchildren were our mother’s greatest blessing.” “She adored us and wanted to be the best mom she could be for all of us, and she was incredibly proud of us,” according to the GoFundMe page.

Police say they’re looking into several leads but haven’t made an arrest or publicly identified a suspect yet. They have also not stated whether she was killed in the area or dumped there after being fatally stabbed elsewhere.

Oakland police and Crime Stoppers are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the killer’s arrest. Anyone with information about the woman or a suspect is asked to contact homicide detectives at 510-238-3821 or 510-238-7950, or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
