San Jose man killed in crash after truck driver runs red light, CHP says

The collision happened at around 1:12 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Monterey Highway and Highland Avenue

According to the California Highway Patrol, a San Jose man was killed in a car accident in San Martin on Thursday.

The accident happened at the intersection of Monterey Highway and Highland Avenue around 1:12 p.m. According to the CHP, the driver of a Ford F-150 ran a red light and collided with a Kia Forte.

The driver of the Kia was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and pronounced dead. Eduardo Ceniceros, 48, of San Jose, was identified by the coroner’s office on Friday.

According to the CHP, the Ford driver, a 59-year-old San Jose man, suffered head trauma and was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment. Two passengers in the Ford suffered minor injuries: a 36-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman from San Jose.

The CHP is looking into whether drugs or alcohol were used.
