Two arrests made in connection to South San Jose armed robbery

The suspects, a man and a woman, were allegedly involved in a series of San Jose robberies

SAN JOSE, Calif. — According to authorities, a man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of a string of robberies in San Jose.

According to a Friday news release from San Jose police, officers responded to a report of a robbery on June 29 on the 5000 block of Makati Circle in South San Jose, where a man allegedly snatched a purse from a woman. During the robbery, the woman sustained non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, the male suspect brandished a gun at a witness who attempted to intervene. Before officers arrived, he fled the scene.

During the investigation, police identified two suspects, as well as a number of others, as being responsible for the June robbery.

On October 3, the 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of unrelated charges. According to authorities, he is still being held at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

On Oct. 18, the woman, 47, was arrested on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy, though police did not elaborate on her alleged role in the incidents.

A search warrant was executed at her residence, and police discovered a short-barreled rifle, two fully automatic handguns, firearm parts, ammunition, and high-capacity magazines.
