Woman fatally shot in East Oakland on Sunday night

No arrests have been made as of Monday morning

OAKLAND, Calif. — According to police, a woman died Sunday night after being shot in East Oakland.

Just after 9 p.m., officers responded to a gunshot detection system alert in the 3400 block of 82nd Avenue, above MacArthur Avenue. They were unable to locate anyone at the scene.

According to investigations, the victim, a woman in her 40s, was transported to the hospital by another person, where she died. As of Monday morning, police had not identified a suspect or a motive. I know

This was Oakland police’s 74th homicide investigation this year. There were 83 at this time last year.
